Reports that Billy B. Van starred in the second, third, and fourth releases of Reelcraft’s Royal Comedy Series, with the success of these comedies leading to plans for additional Van productions.

  • Reelcraft Names Releases

    Completes Five More Productions for Its Short-Subject Program

    The general office of the Reelcraft Pictures Corporation reports the completion of five more productions for its exclusive short subjects program.

    For the fifth release of the new Royal Comedies series, Reelcraft offers an all-star production of ”When the Cat’s Away”, with a large cast including Rose Burkhardt, Tommy Flynn, Ernest Loos, Nemo Catto Rhea Laughlin, Lew Golden and Frederick J. Ireland, the last of whom also directed the picture. Leon Errol was featured in the first release, while Billy B. Van starred in the second, third and fourth releases.

    The success of the Billy B. Van releases has induced the executives of Reelcraft to add more Van comedies to the series. These will be announced shortly.

    Alice Howell has completed her second production of the new series at the Hollywood studio of Reelcraft titled ”A Convict’s Happy Bride”. It was directed by DIck Smith. In this new series of Alice Howell comedies, Director Dick Smith is introducing a new type of picture.

    The Billy Franey comedy unit has completed three more single-reel productions titled ”The Pest”, ”No. 13”, and ”The Kidnapper.” Bud Duncan has also arrived on the Coast. He has recruited his staff and company, and started work on his series of one-reel ”Bud and His Buddies” comedies.

    All of the above-mentioned pictures are distributed by the Reelcraft and allied independent exchanges throughout the country.
